There are a few different grading scales, including the GIA scale, which is usually used for diamonds, and other scales. Here’s what you need to know:
- If the aquamarine stone is graded on the GIA scale, look for stones that are either F (flawless), IF (internally flawless), VVS1/VVS2 (very, very slightly included), or VS1/VS2 (very slightly included).
- Another grade that indicates a high-quality aquamarine is EC, or eye clean.
